Additional funding is on the way for the city's F.A.I.R program, bringing more opportunity for low income families for recreation and leisure activities.
WOODSTOCK - The Fee Assistance In Recreation (F.A.I.R) program has just received some additional funding thanks to Woodstock city council.
Director of Parks and Recreation Brian Connors says it is a program that can be rather important for families in Woodstock.
"It's for people who fall below the low income cut of as far as financial assistance, and this just helps them and their families be able to register for programs that have cost to them like swim lessons, art programs or summer camp."
The program has had a steady increase in funding and enrolment over the past four years.
Connors explains what this funding means with regards to the wait list.
"Once council put in the additional funding we were able to clear the wait list right now, but there is still in take happening."
The program has been granted $30,000 by city council with an option for $15,000 more if needed.
