Bring your four legged friend to the Southside Aquatics Centre on Saturday for the 3rd Annual Pooch Plunge.
WOODSTOCK - You can bring your furry friend for a swim at the Southside Aquatic Centre on Saturday for the 3rd annual Pooch Plunge.
Organizer Linda Collier says it's a great day for the pups.
"The dogs get to go into the small wading pool in the big splash pad. So they get to run it, enjoy the water and just frolic, it's kind of like a big dog reunion. The dogs get to have fun and just enjoy the water."
You can register beforehand and it does cost $5 for you dog to swim for an hour. Collier says the money raised from the event will go towards a good cause.
"The money goes towards Tiny Paws Dog Rescue of Canada and the Wienerfest Festival and basically we rescue any dog 20 pounds and under, so the $5 is going towards a really good cause."
She says the hour sessions run at the top of the hour and they have a special one for small dogs as well.
"We do a small dog pooch plunge at 2 p.m, because we have some big dogs and the little dogs can be scared of the big ones so that's why we are doing a small dog pooch plunge at 2 p.m. so then you know your dog is safe but the dogs will be safe anyhow, we are supported by the Oxford Veterinary Clinic and they will be available on Saturday in case anything were to happen."
The Pooch Plunge runs from 11 am to 2 pm and you can register by calling Robin at 519 421-7665 or email info@wienerfest.ca.
