The OPP are asking Dorchester residents to check any surveillance footage they may have, after a scary incident in the town on Saturday.
DORCHESTER - Police are still searching for a suspect who caused quite the scare in Dorchester on Saturday.
Residents were told not to leave their home while police searched for a man for fled from police in a vehicle with drugs and firearms. The vehicle was eventually found in Dorchester in the area of Hamilton Road and Alma Street. It had crashed up against two hydro poles.
Witnesses saw a man running from the car and the suspect even asked some bystanders for help. No firearms were observed.
Members of the Middlesex OPP, LPS, West Region OPP Canine Unit, WR OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Aviation Services Helicopter were deployed to contain the area in support of the search. The suspect is described as a black man, in his early 20's, wearing a black coat, white shirt, tan pants and white shoes.
The London Police will lead the investigation into this event. PC Max Gomez with the Middlesex OPP says they are asking residents of Dorchester for some help.
"Dorchester residents in the area of Dorchester Road, Byron Avenue and Hamilton Road are asked to review video surveillance footage and contact the Middlesex OPP at 1-888-310-1122 if a person matching the above description is observed."
