Police briefs include a barricaded man in Woodstock and a Brantford driver charged in Paris.
WOODSTOCK - A man who was supposed to be on house arrest in St. Thomas was recently arrested in the Friendly City.
Woodstock Police officers were called out to a home Wellington Street Monday evening, after receiving reports of a man who there against his release order. Police say he barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom and the woman who called was able to get out of the house safely.
There was a short standoff, but officers were able to take the 38-year-old man into custody without incident and charged him with failure to comply with a release order.

PARIS - A 31-year-old man from Brantford has been charged after he was pulled over in Paris.
He was stopped on Mill Street Friday afternoon and police say he was using licence plates that were not authorized for the vehicle he was driving. Officers also determined that the man was driving while his licence was suspended and he didn't have insurance on the vehicle.
He has been charged with driving while under suspension, operating a vehicle without insurance, and using a plates that are not authorized for a vehicle.
