Woodstock Police respond to 108 calls in 3 days
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are warning residents about a holiday scam.
At 11am on December 19th a male and female attended a residence on King Fisher Avenue in Woodstock. They both sung Christmas carols stating to be from a home building charity and asking for money.
If confronted by these two individuals, it is being recommended to contact police immediately.

Several cases of mischief are being investigated by Woodstock Police.
Friday:
Unknown suspects who were in the area of Springbank Avenue smashed a vehicles windshield, damage is valued at $250.
A tire was slashed in the area of Norwich Avenue, damage is also estimated at $250.
Saturday:
Woodstock Police were notified of a windshield smashed in the Best Western parking lot where a $400 roots bag was stolen.
Christmas decorations were damaged at a residence in the area of Falcon Drive.

10 motor vehicles collisions have been reported over the past 3 days.
Friday:
A vehicle hit a bus shelter on Clark St. in the area of Giant Tiger. The vehicle then fled the scene. The damage to the shelter is estimated at $7000.
A vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area of Norwich Avenue, no injuries were reported.
One driver was charged following a 2 vehicle collision in the Henry St. area, no injuries were reported.
Saturday:
Police responded to a two vehicle collision in the area of Dundas Street. One person was checked at the scene by EMS for chest pain. Damage is estimated at $9,500.
A two vehicle collision was reported in the area of Oxford Road 4. There were minor injuries and one driver was charged with failing to yield. There was $10,000 damage.
A two vehicle collision occurred in the area of Norwich Ave. No injuries were reported and there was minor damage to both vehicles.
Sunday:
A vehicle was struck while parked at a business on Mill St. the suspect vehicle failed to remain. The damage to the vehicle is $12,000.
Police investigated a three vehicle collision on private property in the area of Main St., in the City of Woodstock. One driver left his vehicle in gear then exited the vehicle, it rolled into other vehicles that were parked on the property. There was minor damage to all vehicles.
A two vehicle collision occurred in the area of Mill St. and Simcoe St. There weren’t any injuries. The combined damage was $2500.00. A female driver was charged with disobey stop sign.
Police responded to a two vehicle collision on private property with $600.00 damage. No injuries.

Several reports of theft have been reported over the weekend in Woodstock.
Friday:
At 2:00 p.m. a 30 year old male described to be 5’10”, wearing a navy blue jacket, dark clothing, carrying a black cloth shopping bag walked into a business in the area of Dundas. St. and Victoria St. The suspect stole a purse and personal property and took off.
A 20 year old male wearing a green hoodie attempted to steal a pickup truck in the Shoppers drug mart parking lot. The male was unsuccessful in his attempt.
A red 2004 Pickup truck was stolen from the parking lot at the Guarantee Company on Dundas St. The marker on the vehicle is GNABLATE.
Saturday:
Two young males attended the Walmart store on Norwich Ave. They stole energy drinks and were arrested. They were charged under the Trespass to Property Act and were released to their parents.
Monday:
A $350.00 Mountain bike was stolen from a front porch on Vansittart. Ave.

Another RIDE Program was conducted over the weekend. 540 vehicles were stopped at 3 locations where 4 warnings were laid. One charge was laid under the Liquor Licence Act.
