New Hamburg beat Woodstock 4-1 last night.
PJHL - It wasn't a good night for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
Woodstock suffered a 4-1 loss to the New Hamburg Firebirds in Game 1 of the Doherty Division final last night.
New Hamburg scored twice in the first five minutes of the game at the Wilmot Recreation Complex. Ethan Szabo scored a powerplay goal in the second period to get the Vets on the scoreboard, and Tyler Bouck also made 37 saves for Woodstock.
Game 2 of the best-of-seven championship series will takeover Southwood Arena this Friday afternoon, which also happens to be Good Friday. The puck will drop at 1:45 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Thamesford Trojans will face the Mount Brydges Bulldogs in Game 1 of the Yeck Division Final at the Thamesford Area Recreation Centre tomorrow, with a 7:30 p.m. start time.
