Spring is in the air and it means the Conservation Areas offered by the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority will be opening soon.
WOODSTOCK - The Conservation Areas for the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority are set to open this weekend.
Pittock, Fanshawe and Wildwood Conservation Areas officially open this Friday at 8 a.m. Marketing Specialist with the UTRCA Steve Sauder tells Heart FM people will notice some big changes at Pittock this year.
"We configured some sites to make them a little bit larger and more private, were also installing a new accessible dock this year as well which is exciting for the campground."
Some of the other changes include upgraded washrooms, new eco-friendly shower facilities and more tree planting and naturalization of campsites. Sauder says they have also released all of the dates for the big events at Pittock this year.
"The first really large event is on June 11th with Multi Sport Canada Woodstock Triathlon and that is a huge event and even if you don't want to participate, I went down and took some pictures last year and it is a really fun event to watch."
