Construction crews will get to work on Monday March 24th.
WOODSTOCK - Crews are about to get to work on Phase 1 of the Downtown Streetscape project.
Construction on Dundas Street from Wellington Street to Riddell Street will begin on March 24th. Downtown Development Officer Kerry Baird says it should last about 13 weeks.
"This project has been a long time coming and we’re excited to finally be getting underway. We know construction is never easy, but we are confident the improvements will create a more flexible, comfortable downtown for everyone."
New sidewalks will be installed along with rolled curbs, new lighting and new street furniture.
In terms of traffic, Dundas will be off limits between Victoria Street and Museum Square. However the area will remain open to pedestrians so they can access the local businesses.
Traffic detours will be in effect and temporary stops will be in place for the city buses that are affected.
