Three people from the Calvary Church bought nearly $500 in gas cards today at the Pioneer on Norwich Ave, and paid for customers gas.
WOODSTOCK - A feel good story at the Pioneer gas station on Norwich Ave today.
Just before noon, a man and two women from the Calvary Church came into the store and bought $450 in gas cards. He then preceded to give them away for free to customers. The pay it forward gesture was done as a way to get people into the holiday spirit.
Theresa Dobson was working behind the counter when all this happened and says it was quite the moment.
"And he goes, we are going to buy gas for people and I went, oh that's nice, and he was like, yeah I'm going to pay it forward for Christmas."
Dobson says the customers were blown away by his generosity.
"Some of the customers were crying, some of them, were like oh my god, I'm going to fill my tank, instead of just getting $10 for gas, they were crying and then they came in and got another $50 gift card because they didn't have enough, it was quite nice actually."
Dobson says a few customers refused the kind gesture, only because they wanted it to go to someone else, who needs it more.
