The opening ceremony will get underway at 2:00 p.m. our time.
PARIS - The opening ceremony for the 2024 Summer Paralympics will be taking place in Paris, France today.
There will be up to 184 delegations from around the world with 6,000 athletes and officials at the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées.
It will begin at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and Basketball player Patrick Anderson and swimmer Katarina Roxon will be Canada's flag-bearers.
Tillsonburg's very own Charlotte Bolton is also competing in the Paralympics this year after she recorded her sixth lifetime best in the Discus Para Amb while competing in Montreal earlier this summer. She also competed in the Tokyo Paralympics back in 2021. She was 18-years-old at the time and placed sixth in the Women's F41 Shot Put and F41 Discus.
