The City of Woodstock and the Calvary Church will be offering day camps next week a deal is not reached between CUPE and the Province.
WOODSTOCK - Parents are scrambling today to find day care as schools set to close next week because of a strike.
The City of Woodstock is offering the following day camps next week for kids in the Friendly City.
The City of Woodstock has set up Adventure camp for children 4-12 in the event of a school closure. Registration will begin today (October 4) at 11:00am. Camp will be taking place at Southside Aquatic Centre from 7:30am until 5:30pm. The cost of Little Adventurer (4-5) is $39.50/day, and the cost of Adventure camp (6-12) is $35.00/day. Parents will be able to register by calling 519-539-2382 x2701, or online here.
They are also setting up day camps at the Woodstock Museum and the Woodstock Art Gallery.
Keep the kids busy if schools are closed next week at the Woodstock Art Gallery’s Open Studio Day Camps. We’ll be offering creative full-day programs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Before and after care will also be available as early as 8:30 a.m. and as late as 4:30 p.m. for an additional $5. Looking for something the kids can do next week if schools are closed? The Museum is offering educational Day Camps Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Your child can explore the Museum and keep their learning sharp with fun games, crafts and activities. The Calvary Church in Woodstock is also hosting day camps next week for kids in the Friendly City.
They will be offering the camps from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm if the schools do close down next week because of the CUPE strike. The cost is $20 a day per camper. Kids need to pre-register now if they want to get some of the last spots.
The camps will run as long as the schools are closed, obviously the hope is that a deal is reached before it gets to this point.
