It has been one week since George Papadakos set out on his journey to complete one marathon each day in order to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Oxford County.
TILLSONBURG - Whether we've had snow, sunshine or freezing cold temperatures George Papadakos is staying true to his goal.
The Tillsonburg man has been running a marathon every day since January 1st and he's going to continue to do so for the rest of the month.
He says it has already taken a toll on his body, but he's powering through it.
"Every day has been a bit of a pain it's just a matter of where is the pain. That's why I've been getting a lot of therapy, chiropractic care, ice baths, hot baths, lots of rolling and using my massage gun. I'm trying to do all the things to keep my body at least running."
He's doing it all to raise money for the Alzheimer Society of Oxford County.
"I knew I need to do something of good size and grandeur to get people interested in the cause so they can learn about this terrible disease."
Papadakos says lots of people have been cheering him on, whether they're running alongside him or honking their horns as they drive-by.
He has already raised over $14,000 so far and you can donate to the cause online here.
