Phase two of the Oxford Thames River Trail from Woodstock to Beachville is almost complete and is open to the public.
BEACHVILLE - Almost 5 kilometres of the Beachville Thames River Trail has been completed and is now open to the public.
A lot of work has been done on the Beachville to Woodstock trail by Oxford County trails over the last couple of years. Community Partnership Specialist with the Thames River Conservation Authority Brad Hertner tells Heart FM the trail will be walking, cycling and cross country skiing in the winter.
"It's a great trail for families, lot's of great birding, good views of the Thames River, it's a nice flat trail, easy walking and some side loops so you can make your walk at different distances, depending on what your interested in and how much time you have."
Hertner says they still have some work to do to install some signs and benches and they hope to have a grand opening in late May.
"Phase two of the trail is now open with a big thanks to the Ontario Trillium foundation, which funded a good portion of that project, so it's open to the public now, their is still a little bit of work that has to be done, we have to install a few benches and put up some more signage."
