Mom's and Dad's can sign up for free online prenatal education courses through Oxford County Public Health.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Public Health has a new prenatal education online course you can do from the comfort of your own home.
With the launch of the new prenatal online course, parents will be able to learn about a variety of subjects according to Public Health Nurse with the Healthy Babies, Healthy Children program Sara Heintz.
"They would learn newborn care, post-partum care; they receive education on labour and delivers, comfort measures."
Heintz says with so many parents working non-traditional hours, this will help people find answers to the questions they may have about welcoming a new baby to the family.
"So if you're a shift worker you can do it at your own pace, in your own home. If mom's on bed rest for some reason she can do it from home. And if our in class prenatal is full, there's another option for them now that there wasn't before."
The in person prenatal courses will still be offered by Public Health, and this course can either supplement the material from that course, or provide an alternative if the in person courses simply can't fit into your busy schedule.
"They find them to be beneficial in providing the information and that they can go back and continually access, it's not just a one time. They have three months open access to the program once they register and receive their code, so at any time they can go back and look something up."
This is a free course and you can register for the course at Oxford County Public Health's website.
Call Public Health at 519-539-9800 or toll-free at 1-800-755-0394 for more information about this and other courses they offer.
