OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is looking for citizen volunteers to join the Accessibility Advisory Committee and the Land Division Committee.
The term runs until 2022 and each committee currently has one vacancy for an individual with commitment and passion.
The volunteer will provide advice and recommendations to County Council on matters that affect the entire community.
The Accessibility Advisory Committee promotes awareness and sensitivity about accessibility issues for persons with disabilities and provides input on the County’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.
It is a great way to share your personal talents and passion for the community while helping to set strategic direction for the future.
It consists of seven members, six members of the public, the majority of whom shall be persons with a disability and one County councillor.
The County's Land Division Committee is all matters related to the subdivision of land, including plans, consents and exemptions from zoning by-laws.
The committee is a Council-appointed tribunal, but it exercises its authority autonomously and independent of Council. The committee is comprised of seven members, all of which must live in the County. No sitting members of County Council or Area Municipal Councils are eligible for appointment to the Land Division Committee.
For those interested in applying for either committee are asked to submit, in writing or by email, an application including a resume by August 30, 2019, 4:00 p.m. The applications are to be sent to Clerk of Oxford County, Chloe Senior.
