OSCIA to Host Annual Meeting & Trade Show in Embro

The Oxford County Soil and Crop Improvement Association will be hosting its Annual Meeting and Trade Show at the Embro Community Centre tomorrow.

EMBRO - The Annual Meeting and Trade Show for the Oxford County Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) is making a comeback.

The event will take place at the Embro Community Centre on Tuesday January 10th, and they have an exciting list of guest speakers. 

Speakers include Peter Johnson recapping the results of the Roots Not Iron project, BMO’s Erik Johnson talking about the 2023 Economic Outlook, and Rob Miller from BASF presenting strategies for tackling hard-to-control weeds. Dean Shantz from CRF AgriTech will be giving a fertilizer market update, and there will be a farmer panel discussing this year’s on-farm trial results.

OSCIA Vice President Wesley Hart also explains what exhibits will be there.

"We've got representatives from local agricultural businesses that come and set up and they're happy to talk about their products ranging from AgTech to fertilizers to biological options, field scouting programs... equipment suppliers will be there, retailers in and around the area will be represented there. Pretty much the businesses that row croppers deal with will be represented at that meeting."

Anyone can purchase tickets to attend for $25, but to become a member, it will cost $50 for the year or $120 for three years. A hot buffet lunch is included inside.

The doors open at 9:00 a.m. but the meeting does not start until 10:00 a.m. Tickets can also be purchased here.
