Police say suspects are following a pattern of arriving in stolen cars, breaking into a dealership, stealing several sets of keys and then returning later to steal additional vehicles.
ELGIN - A wave of break-and-enter occurrences have prompted the OPP to issue warnings to auto dealerships and auto shops to take precautions to safeguard their vehicles and vehicle keys.
The incidents reportedly began on August 8th, with multiple vehicles stolen in Middlesex, Elgin and Perth Counties.
Police say suspects are following a pattern of arriving in stolen cars, breaking into a dealership or shop, stealing several sets of keys and then returning later to steal additional vehicles. The vehicles are then being operated with unattached or stolen plates.
