That includes restrictions on outdoor gatherings
In a media release, the OPP say they want to make sure the public is aware of the actions being taken to help limit the transmission of the COVID-19 virus including restrictions on interprovincial travel.
Provincial police note outdoor gatherings are now restricted to members of the same household only, plus one other person if that person lives alone, in-person shopping is restricted to 25 percent of building capacity, outdoor recreational facilities and non essential construction sites are now closed.
Effective Monday at 12:01 am capacity at religious gathering, weddings and funerals will be limited to 10 people.
As well starting Monday, the OPP will have officers located at interprovincial points of entry by road to screen all vehicles coming in from Manitoba and Quebec.
Those not travelling for essential reasons will be refused entry.
The force also reminding residents police have the authority to ask individuals and motorists who are not at home the purpose for leaving home and to provide their home address.
The OPP will also be informing the public of charges laid each day on its social media accounts,
Individuals who fail to comply with the restrictions can be issued a minimum fine of $750.
