OPP Offer Tips After Recent Break Ins in Zorra Township

Zorra Mayor Marcus Ryan is featured in a new video from the OPP, offering tips on how to avoid becoming the victim of petty crimes like vehicle break ins.

ZORRA TOWNSHIP - The OPP have created a new video asking residents to report suspicious behaviour in your community.

Zorra Township Mayor Marcus Ryan explains why he contacted the OPP. 

"I contacted the OPP because we have seen a little rash of vehicle break ins, in people's driveways, most often in Thamesford but also on our rural roads and I contacted Detachment Commander Hymers to see if the OPP can offer any advice to our residents."

Detachment Commander Tony Hymers also appears in the video and offered this advice to residents on ways to avoid becoming a victim of crime. 

"We are asking people to take the time to lock their car doors, if they are not with their vehicles, do a double check to make sure that their valuables are not visible in the car. If they do have to carry valuables, keep them in the trunk and make sure their car doesn't look like a potential target to victimize."

OPP are also reminding rural residents to always pocket your keys and never leave them in your vehicle.
