Norfolk OPP have donated $2,000 to Camp Trillium; with help from their counterparts in Oxford, Brant and Haldimand.
WATERFORD - Norfolk OPP In Service Training Unit has donated $2,000 to Camp Trillium in Waterford.
Constable Ed Sanchuk explains how the funds were raised.
"Our In Service Training in Simcoe has raised funds for 3 or 4 years. Every year that the officers get together from Oxford, Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk we collect funds on behalf of those officers. As a result of the end of the year those funds are then donated to Camp Trillium."
Sanchuk says the money will be going towards a great cause.
"Camp Trillium is geared towards kids that are going through a really tough time in their life, they are battling cancer. It just gives them a little more normality when they attend the camp with other kids that are going through the same issues that they are. When those kids do get together there is no staring, no making fun and everyone may be going through chemotherapy and may have lost their hair, everyone is the same."
The cheque was presented on Sunday.
