The OPP will be patrolling the waters this long weekend.
People from Oxford County heading out to the lake should be aware of Operation Dry Water happening from July 28th to August 1st. About 40% boating related fatalities in Canada are alcohol related
With this in mind police boats will be patrolling the lakes this long weekend in an effort to make sure operators are driving sober. Driving impaired on the water will net you the same charge as driving impaired on the highway.
Police will also be making sure you have a proper boating license and life jackets on board.
