Members of the OPAL Alliance are backing MPP Ernie Hardeman's proposed amendment to Planning Act.
OXFORD COUNTY - Members of the OPAL Alliance are encouraging people to voice their support for MPP Ernie Hardeman's proposed amendment to the Planning Act.
Hardeman's adjustment would prevent landfill's from being forced onto unwilling host municipalities.
President Bryan Smith wants to send a message to the committee that's reviewing Bill 139.
"We've invited people to communicate with people who are sitting there, the MPP's, and tell them why it's important that our community has a choice in the matter."
Smith explains how residents to show their support.
"They can send their comments VIA Ernie's office. The other way they can do it is by e-mailing the individual MPP's and we've posted those e-mail addresses on the STOP the Dump Facebook Page."
You can also find those e-mail addresses here.
The OPAL Alliance will discuss the results of this effort at their upcoming STOMP the Dump event in Ingersoll on November 12th.
