The College Employer Council and the college faculty branch of OPSEU agreed to enter binding interest arbitration yesterday and they say all work-to-rule strike activities have ended.
ONTARIO - The college strike has been averted.
Ontario's colleges and the union representing faculty members have agreed to enter binding interest arbitration, avoiding the strike that was scheduled to begin today.
Representatives from the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and the College Employer Council (CEC) met virtually yesterday and they released a statement late last night, saying all work-to-rule strike activities have ended.
The college faculty branch of OPSEU represents over 16,000 professors, counsellors, librarians and instructors across the province. The CEC represents Ontario's 24 publicly funded colleges.
