A request to extend transit services to the new Catholic schools and church on Devonshire has been put on hold
Requests to extend Woodstock's transit routes to service the new Catholic elementary, high school and church on Devonshire are being put on hold.
At Thursday night's City Council meeting, Engineer Harold de Haan says staff will be asking for funds to complete a transit study in the new year and any plans for an extension would have to wait until the study is complete.
Requests for additional sidewalks in that area were also turned down with de Haan saying the area is largely undeveloped and the sidewalks will be constructed as development occurs.
Currently the farthest east the buses go is the corner of Falcon Street and Devonshire Avenue and the closest sidewalk to the church and school is at the intersection of Cardinal Drive and Devonshire Avenue.
