The award for League of the year was given to the Woodstock Men's Old-timers League, by the Slo-Pitcher's Ontario Association.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Men's Oldtimers' League was one of three slo-pitch divisions in Ontario to receive the League of the Year Award recently.
The Oldtimers' League has been playing for 30 years, and their president Dan Wilford says that the award is a real honor not only for his league, but the Slo-pitch Ontario Association, as well.
"I thought the honour would go to Dan Sutherland, the founder of our league who recently passed away," said Wilford. "So, I'm not sure what to do with this award... maybe we could put it up at the Sports Wall of Fame up at the Complex."
Wilford also had this to say.
"This is a tribute to the great league that we have thats run successfully for so many years with so much help and good volunteers and it's proud to be apart of a league like this."
The league is open to all and any willing to play over the age of 35 years old.
