Occleston believes he has experience that can help Blandford-Blenheim move in the direction that is in the best interest of both newcomers and the long-served community members.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - A working, small-family man from downtown Drumbo is running for Council.
It is Dillon Occleston's first time campaigning, and even though he's only lived in Blandford-Blenheim for three years, he's very involved in the community and has made plenty of connections.
For a living, Occleston works as a Technical Sales and Project Manager with Greatario Engineered Storage Systems, specializing in the construction of Canadian water & wastewater infrastructure. He also is a board member with the Drumbo and District Housing Corporation as well as a member of the Ontario Water Works Association and the Water Environment Association of Ontario.
Occleston says he is quite pleased with the representation from the incumbent councillors in the township, but he believes he has experience that can help Blandford-Blenheim move in the direction that is in the best interest of both newcomers and the long-served community members.
"Every town is going to continue to develop and grow and I'd like to specifically advise and offer the township of Blandford-Blenheim my experience in helping the most responsible development occur."
Occleston also noted that he would like to look at transportation plan to see if there is a way to help commuters from Plattsville, Drumbo and surrounding areas with a more direct route to the 401.
The municipal election is scheduled for October 24.
