A food truck fest, an escape room, local vendors, and a chance to win a shopping spree - Nostalgia Days are back.
NORWICH - The town of Norwich will be a very busy place during the annual Nostalgia Days celebration.
Main Street will be closed to traffic on Friday July 7th and Saturday July 8th so local shops can set up booths on the streets and sell their products. BIA member Laura Barker says anyone who shops local on Friday will be entered into a draw to win a Norwich shopping spree.
"Everybody is given a ballot every time they shop and we have live draws taking place during the evening at the food truck fest."
Over $2,000 in giveaways will be handed out and you have to attend the live draws in order to win.
Barker expects a big crowd in the downtown area Friday evening.
"We've got food trucks coming from all different areas offering all different kinds of food. We're also adding to that a big beer tent and live entertainment for the whole time from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. so it's a really great little street party."
Friday will also feature a downtown kid's zone with inflatables, an escape room, and a screening of Honey I Shrunk the Kids in Harold Bishop Park.
Saturday kicks off with a morning brunch at the Norwich Legion and a fishing derby in the Norwich Conservation Area. There will also be lots of activities at the Norwich Museum, a car show at Emily Stowe Public School, and lots of live music at the Legion in the afternoon and evening.
Horse drawn wagons will act as shuttles in the town throughout the weekend to transport visitors to the numerous events going on in the area.
