Norwich Township has acquired a significant piece of property for the future. The Township announced it has purchased the Fountainview Golf Course. The course will become the future site for a new Administration Office. And according to Mayor Donald Doan, the excess land will be put up for future development. "That's a pretty prime location. It's a 23-acre property that gives us something to have our economic development officer we're pursuing along with our other rural partners in the County. That will give them something to have to market." The township will move quickly on building the new Admin building, Doan hopes it will be built as soon as this summer. In a press release, township CAO Michael Graves says, "By selling the remaining lands, that money can be utilized to offset the construction costs, providing us with additional monies to be used to pursue the other goals on the Township's strategic plan including; a new Burgessville Fire Hall and a new centralized Public Works building." The township is not disclosing how much the final green fee was, as the deal hasn't closed yet. It was listed on the open market for $599,000.
