Head back in time in Norwich this weekend with Norwich Nostalgia Days.
NORWICH - Norwich is offering you the chance to revel in a little Nostalgia.
Norwich Nostalgia Days kicks off today with vendors, music, in store specials, and Amish hand-crafted goods.
Curatorial Administrator at the Norwich Museum, Deborah Dufton says these kinds of events really bring the community together. "I think it's really important to preserve the old traditions. To recognize the effort the pioneers in this area made to make this community what it is today. So we have a peaceful rural area, and our forefathers put a lot of energy into building this community up in the earlier years."
Traditionally the museum sees a great turn out: "Here at the museum we usually see 400 people on Saturday," says Dufton. "There are wagon rides pulled by horses and by tractors that bring people from the museum to the downtown area, and to the car show, and the arena area where there's also some activities going on. So you can take a nice wagon tour around town." If you do plan to start at the museum, there is no charge, but donations are accepted.
Tonight in Harold Bishop Park the Optimists will be hosting a fun night for families featuring the Great Family Challenge and a movie night out under the stars.
And tomorrow promises to be even more fun; the street festival continues with music and vendors from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Over at Emily Stowe Public School the Norwich BIA has arranged for a classic car show from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. And you can start your day off with a full tummy after visiting the Legion for brunch served until noon. The museum will be hosting tractor games, wagon rides, and of course all the exhibits will be open.
