There have been more positive tests for West Nile Virus in Oxford County. Public health says in the last week, mosquito pools in Norwich and Woodstock have tested positive. For Norwich, it's a first positive test result. There has been a sharp increase this year in the amount of West Nile activity locally, and right across the province. The public are being reminded to cover as much exposed skin as possible, when outdoors, especially in bush areas and on walking trails. Also, use an insect repellant containing DEET. In the meantime, Public Health has also ramped up its surveillance and larviciding program. More info about West Nile Virus can be found here.
