The Norwich Merchants have their work cut out for them as they take on the Ayr Centennials
NORWICH - The Norwich Merchants start their second round playoff series tonight against the Ayr Centennials.
Norwich is away tonight for the play off game.
President Ken Gillanders says they are starting to gel at the right time.
"We made a few minor moves throughout the season and basically got our team chemistry going. I can't say enough about our guys on the ice and the job the coaching staff has done - we are ramping it up at the right time I guess."
Gillanders says they're the heavy underdog in this series but are ready for the task.
"Ayr is a dangerous team they have great offensive ability, great goaltending, great defensive ability, special teams, they work hard, explosive offensively, we are just going to do our best to play with them in the series and hopefully we can get some wins together."
The Merchants' first home playoff game will be this Friday night at 8 p.m.
