The Crew RC Riding Club and Unifor Local 636 will be distributing 75 Christmas dinner boxes to the less fortunate this holiday season. You have until December 15th to nominate a local family in need.
WOODSTOCK - The Crew RC Riding Club is once again teaming up with Unifor Local 636 to provide Christmas dinners to the less fortunate.
Crew RC President Gary Young says they're hoping to distribute 75 dinner boxes this holiday season.
"It's a complete meal, from the turkey right down to the dessert and including treats for your cats and dogs if you have one. We also have gift cards for the little kids, if you have a small kid under 15."
They distributed 56 boxes last year, feeding about 148 people in total. Young says each box should feed about four to six people and they'll be ready just in time for Christmas this year.
"December 18th is the delivery date. They can either pick them up at the Unifor Hall or we will deliver if they have no means of transportation."
You have until December 15th to nominate a family in need for one of these boxes. The nomination forms are available at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County, Wellkin and the Women's Employment Resource Centre. Members of The Crew RC - Support Group on Facebook can also access the form online.
All of the items in the dinner boxes have been donated by local businesses and members of the community. Young says they're not asking for donations at this time, but if you still want to donate they would prefer food donations (ex: gravy mixes, stuffing mixes, etc.) instead of cash donations. Donations can be dropped off at the Unifor Hall or you can reach out to The Crew RC to learn more.
