WDDS in Woodstock is hosting a charity fashion show at Cowan Park on Thursday night.
WOODSTOCK - The Night of Heroes for Woodstock and District Developmental Services will be taking over Cowan Park on Thursday night.
Community Development Coordinator at WDDS Deb Roloson tells Heart FM what will be happening with the fashion show.
"It's a fashion show. And it will involve the people that we support at WDDS, but the twist to it is that they are paired with people from the community: local emergency personnel, our firemen, our paramedics, nurses from the hospital, as well as other community guests, and they walk to catwalk together."
Roloson says WDDS is in the middle of an expansion campaign.
"People may or may not know that WDDS is in the throes of an expansion campaign. We support people who have a developmental disability, and so we provide a lot of programs and supports for people to be successful in the community. Throughout time our programs have grown, the number of people we support have grown, and so we've had to expand our building"
They work with people who have development disabilities locally and provide plenty of programs and support for people to succeed. Money from the fashion go will go towards the expansion of their building in Woodstock.
"Tickets are $35 and our own Taste of Woodstock Catering from WDDS will be serving some delicious hor d'oeuvres. We have the Woodstock Navy Vet hockey team on board to help us serve some of those hor d'oeuvres and help us throughout the evening. But we're very fortunate to have some great sponsors on board."
