People will get to learn more about how they can reduce their energy consumption at a Net Zero workshop in Norwich this Thursday.
NORWICH - The first two workshops in the Future of Oxford Speaker Series have been scheduled.
The series will be held at various library locations across the county. Session one of the Net Zero workshops will take place at the Norwich Public Library this Thursday.
Lisa Miettinen, Chief Librarian with Oxford County Library explains the unique opportunity for the public.
"People can meet individually with Jay Heaman who is the Manager of Strategic Infinitives with the County. They can talk about their own properties and what they might be able to do to get on the path to becoming net zero when it comes to energy consumption."
CAO of Oxford County Peter Crockett explains what it means to be Net Zero.
"It's all around reducing your energy footprint. What that really means is, we look for ways to reduce the energy that you are consuming and at the same time, look at opportunities that you can use to generate electricity at your home."
Thursday's workshop will feature a drop in session with Jay Heaman from 3pm to 5pm. They will also bring in some guest speakers for a presentation and discussion from 6:30pm to 8pm.
The second workshop will take place at the Tillsonburg on Thursday November 7th. It will follow the same format and the same times at the Tillsonburg Public Library.
