The Navy Vets are set to take on the Cens Friday night, after a disappointing home opener against Paris.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Vets are hoping to right the ship this Friday night against the Ayr Centennials.
Woodstock lost their home opener to Paris last Friday 5-1.
President Devon Young says he knows it will be a tough contest against the 0 and 2 Cens.
"I think they lost the first 2 last year, I know they lost a few guys from last years team but their still a talented group so, I wouldn't be thinking to far ahead of that match up."
The Navy Vets have added some new faces this year and lost a few key pieces as some players retired and they lost a couple of pieces to Junior B. Young says they want to build on last years success.
"I think that they want to get back to playing the same way we did last year, and obviously I don't think we've gotten to that point yet, but I'm not sure if its the pressure to compete like we did last year or, just the pressure to play the same kind of Hockey we did last year."
This will be the first game since the home opener as last weeks game was cancelled due to a power outage in Burford. The puck drops at 7:45 p.m. at Southwood Arena.
