WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy League Cadets of Canada Unicorn won silver at the First Aid competition.
They competed against Navy Cadet leagues from across the Province in Kingston and only missed out on first place by half a point. Lieutenant for the Navy Cadets Jim Vandermeer tells Heart FM what the Navy Cadets did at the competition.
"And then we actually had real life scenario where they dressed up someone to have cuts on them and the first aid team which consisted of 4 people between the ages of 9 and 12, had to go in and fix him up more or less. The first thing we did was do the scene survey and make sure their is no gas or smoke and then they put the gloves on and check in on the victim who had a massive cut and then go from there."
This is the team's first time going to Provincials.
