Environment Canada is calling for more snow this week and they think it should stick around for a bit.
OXFORD COUNTY - It looks like the region could get hit with some more snow this week.
Environment Canada says they are monitoring a storm from Texas that could bring more snow this week starting on Tuesday night. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says he doesn't expect the snow we do have to melt for a couple of weeks.
"It looks like in the first half of February, generally temperatures are going to be somewhat colder than normal, so what we get as snow will likely stick on the ground. With the latest information for the second half of the month, it looks like more seasonal temperatures and that could mean more in the way of some mild days and we on a few of those days we get above the freezing mark, which would eat into some of the snow pack."
Coulson says they will have a better idea of how much snow we can expect this week by tomorrow.
"Only other think worth mentioning, right now that system coming out of Texas, is the next weather system that we are keeping an eye on. Snow likely to begin Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning and persist on and off throughout the day on Wednesday. We may see some special weather statements or notices to be issued if the forecasters expect those amounts to be notable."
