The Canterbury Folk Festival weekend has arrived. Downtown Ingersoll will be taken over all weekend with over 34 individual and group entertainers. It gets underway at 5 o'clock on Friday, and continues through Sunday afternoon. Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey says most are looking forward to seeing a Canadian icon perform. "It's a build up to Natalie McMaster, one of Canada's greatest fiddlers. She's going to be with us on Sunday, her show is at 3 o'clock, and I think that's going to be a super closure to the whole thing." Best of all, the entertainment is free all weekend long, including an area for the kids. "It's one of Oxford County's largest festivals, and certainly where one where everyone can come and enjoy themselves, the whole family. There's children's stages, there's a seniors' centre, on Saturday afternoon for example, there's 6 stages going. So come on down, bring a lawn chair, have some fun, and enjoy the hospitality of Ingersoll." The event is free, aside a $12 pig roast Friday night, breakfast in the park Saturday and Sunday mornings, and raffles, including one for a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Click here for more details.
