The new Mayor of Zorra Township has started a monthly blog to keep residents informed about what is happening in their community.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Every month the new mayor of Zorra Township will be posting a blog online to keep residents up to date.
Marcus Ryan says it is just a way to give some perspective to some of the decisions council makes.
"A big part of this blog is to try to engage with residents as much as possible and the first part of successfully engaging with residents is to make sure they have all the information that they can get and frankly that they are entitled to. Our staff have started doing a council highlights bulletin after each council meeting to highlight some of the big issues we are talking about and as well now, I have started doing this monthly blog that highlights issues that council has decided on and also big issues that we are working on with other municipalities, with the provincial government and major happenings in the community to try and keep people informed and hopefully more engaged with the work the municipal government is doing."
Ryan talks about some of the items in his most recent blog.
"There was an update on high speed rail and a meeting that I had with the Minister of Transportation right before Christmas and there is an update there on the new proposed review of Regional Government, that includes Oxford County."
