The four term Tillsonburg councillor believes he is the right person for the job with the experience to do it.
Tillsonburg councillor Marty Klein is going to take a shot at the Deputy Mayor position.
Klein has served four terms, including three terms on Tillsonburg council in the 1980s and this current term. He is also a former Vice President of the Tillsonburg Hospital
Klein said there are many reasons he's right for the job.
"I'm a team player, I care about the community, I believe in collaboration, I believe in giving credit, I know the community—I've been here since I was five-and a -half years old, I know the issues, I know the history and I know what the challenges are," Klein said.
"I think I have all the ingredients and most importantly the time to spend and do the job,' he said.
Klein says there are many issues facing Tillsonburg, including "pressure from the province," to sell or amalgamate Tillsonburg Hydro.
Klein is the first to file papers for the Deputy Mayor position.
