After three players left his team, Innerkip native Mark Kean is in the process of rebuilding is curling team.
OXFORD COUNTY - Innerkip native Mark Kean is rebuilding his curling team after several members unexpectedly quit.
Kean says it all started to fall apart last Monday.
While Kean didn't get into specifics of why the team broke up, he says it's been a whorl wind since the announcement of the first player leaving his team last week.
"We had tonnes of emails right away, lots of guys interested. The feeling was that the three of us were going to stick together and add one more guy. I had lots of guys who were emailing me and talking and wanted to get on the team. It was pretty easy that way to find people once everyone had left -- to find a full team -- it's just about finding the right group of guys and the right fit personality wise."
Kean says it's not the first time he has had to rebuild a team.
"I've got a group of guys that are really solid, talented and I think we may even get along better than the team I've had in previous years just from what I've seen so far. Just a ton of potential. Younger guys but definitely a ton of potential."
Kean says two of the guys are in Waterloo with a third in Ottawa who is willing to move to the area once the team is better established and winning.
This year Team Kean made it to the Briar after qualifying at the 2015 Recharge with Milk Tankard in Dorchester.
