Downtown Paris is gearing up for the annual Maple Syrup Festival on Saturday.
PARIS - Something sweet and sticky is taking over the Streets of Paris on Saturday.
The Paris Lion's Club will be blocking off downtown Paris for the Maple Syrup Festival.
Chair of the fest Bruce Falkiner says this is a great chance to discover some local tasty treats.
"We're going to be using local maple syrup produced right near Paris. Neil Chambers is the person producing it and we've used his maple syrup for the last four years and we're using it again this year."
Along with a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast starting at 7 a.m. Falkiner says there will be lots to do.
"Along with the music there will be Woodcarving demonstrations and the Maple Syrup Express will be available for rides around the festival - that's a little train. Local Paris businesses will be open for business as usual along the street. We will also have vendors coming in to line both sides of Grand River Street."
The fest is put on the help the Lion's Club invest back in the community according to Falkiner.
"This whole festival is being done so that we can raise funds we're using to support local projects, including improvements to Lion's Park."
Grand River Street will be blocked off from William to Mechanic from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. so pedestrians can freely move around the festival.
