Norwich Township residents are ready to decorate their front doors for the 2nd annual Make Our Township Festive Contest.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Norwich Township residents and business owners are getting ready to deck the doors once again.
The Make Our Township Festive Contest has returned for the holiday season.
RE/MAX Real Estate Broker Laura Barker decided to bring the challenge back this year after receiving about 60 entries in 2016.
"Some people just went with a traditional Christmas look and then we had some people with really unique ideas; we had one person that took a Christmas movie and turned into a whole theme for the front of their house. We've had handmade things and store bought things; people just really mix it up so we have all different kinds."
First place will win $500, second will receive $300 and third will get $200; but Barker says the winners have to select a local charity to donate the money to.
"They can pick whoever they want in the township. Last year I think the winner gave it to the Upper Deck Youth Centre. People can also give it to the Salvation Army, their local church, different service groups; one of the donations went to the Norwich Optimist Club last year. Whoever they feel is really in need in the community."
Contact the Norwich RE/MAX office if you would like to register by calling 519-863-3383, e-mailing info@ruralgirl.ca or visiting the Your Rural Girl Facebook Page. Make sure you leave your address and let them know if you would like your front door display judged in the daytime or night time.
Judging will take place between December 11th and 15th.
