The expansion and renovation of the South Gate Centre has gotten a major boost. The tender has officially been put out.
WOODSTOCK - A major step forward for the South Gate Expansion.
Chairman of the South Gate Capital Expansion Committee, David Hilderley says progress is being made on the project.
"We are thrilled to announce that the City of Woodstock put out the tender for the South Gate expansion and renovation on Friday."
This afternoon (Thursday, April 11th), companies looking to submit a bid to build possibly had a walk-through of the facility, which is a mandatory part of the process. Hilderley knows the finished product will be a benefit to the city.
"It is definitely a big project, but it is a project that benefits the programming needs and facilities for the seniors, but it is also going to be a great community centre in so many ways."
He adds the tender closes May 2nd, and then goes to City Council to decide who will be awarded the contract. Hilderley hopes the work can come in under the scheduled 9 million dollars, but says they will have to wait and see.
