The amount of rain has caused a safety water statement from the Long Point Region Conservation Authority.
OXFORD COUNTY - A Water Safety Statement has been issued by the Long Point Region Conservation Authority.
A total of 30 to 35 millimetres is expected by the time a Texas low-pressure system moves through today. No major flooding is expected, but localized flooding could hoccur in low-lyingareas and regions with poor drainage. People are being warned to stay away from ditches, bodies of water, streams, rivers and ponds as the combination of slippery banks and cold fast-flowing water is dangerous.
The Water Safety Statement is in effect until tomorrow at noon.
