Oxford OPP handed out 31 speeding tickets over the Long Weekend.
It was another busy Long Weekend for the Oxford OPP who were out patrolling the roadways.
Over the course of three days from Friday to Sunday they handed out 31 speeding tickets. Officers also charged one person with impaired driving and one person who was in the warning range and their vehicle was towed from the scene.
Constable Stacey Culbert says the impaired driving numbers were down a bit this long weekend.
"The Provincial offences side of it, the criminal code side of it was a little bit lower this year but we did have a couple of liquor offences. We were really trying to be diligent and we are trying to change drivers behaviours. So when we are pulling people over, we are trying to educate them and again it has to be done through enforcement as well to make sure that the drivers out there are operating their vehicles safely on our roadways."
Culbert says they also handed out a number tickets for not wearing a seat belt and distracted driving.
