A string of vehicle break and enters in Oxford County has the local OPP preaching lock it or lose it.
Oxford OPP are preaching lock it or lose it after a series of thefts to commercial vehicles in Norwich Township and South West Oxford.
Constable Lisa Naranscik says at least 5 work vehicles were targeted by thieves last week and a number of power tools and equipment were stolen.
"That's what it would seem that they were looking for tools, and that was reported to us that work vehicles were being entered and the big items that were taken were the tools."
Constable Lisa Naranscik tells Heart FM the best thing you can do is lock your vehicle.
"Make sure that if you are leaving anything of value in your vehicle that they are covered, for work vehicles it is obviously a little more difficult, so for work vehicles we want to make sure they are locked up and maybe left in a well lit area."
Naranscik says it is also a good idea to mark your property so it can be easily identified and make sure the serial numbers are still in place.
