Students and staff at Winchester Street Public School are collecting non-perishable food item donations.
WOODSTOCK - The sixth annual We Scare Hunger campaign is underway at Winchester Street Public School.
Grade 8 teacher Heather Reid says they're collecting donations all month long.
"We would welcome any donation of non-perishable food items or items such as new blankets, pillow cases, sheets, diapers, baby wipes, toothpaste, shampoo or anything like that! You can drop them off at the school during open hours."
The school will also accept donations at their big Halloween Howl event on Friday October 19th.
Reid says every donation will benefit Domestic Abuse Services Oxford.
"We're collecting items for DASO because DASO's shelter is actually in Winchester's area. So some of the young people who end up at the shelter end up coming to our school while they're at the shelter."
The We Scare Hunger campaign is associated with the school's We Are The Change club. It's comprised of students who would like to make a difference in their local and global community.
