Woodstock-Ingersoll & District Realtor Board has handed out an award to Ian Robertson
OXFORD COUNTY - One local realtor is being recognized for his tireless charitable work in the community.
The Woodstock-Ingersoll & District Real Estate Board has given out their first Realtors Care Award to Ian Robertson of RE/MAX A-B Realty in Ingersoll according to Board President William Cattle. "Well it's a pretty prestigious award: it's a Realtors Care Award and it recognizes individuals in the industry that excel in giving back through community service. He has participated in numerous committees and donated countless hours back to the community of Ingersoll."
Cattle adds this is by no means a new award. "Provincially other areas have done it for several years and it was something that we brought to the attention of local real estate board that we should start to acknowledge our local realtors and show great gratitude toward their commitment to the community."
Giving back to the communities they work in has always been important to many of the realtors according to Cattle. "I think it just shows our appreciation to our clientele base and to the local areas and realtors by general donate a lot of time back to the community and we take a great pride in being local community supporters."
Robertson is being recognized for donating his time over the past 25 years to many different causes, clubs, committees, and events. He has served as the Director Treasurer of the Ingersoll Kiwanis Club and worked as the main liaison with the community for programs like 'Coats for Kids'; 'Bowling with Special Olympians'; respite assistance; and specialized equipment for special needs.
He is also a Director and lead investigator for the Ingersoll Community Foundation which works with people who need assistance for things such as rent, hydro,heat, hearing aids, dental, and bi-monthly food bank purchases for the town of Ingersoll.
