A man from Norwich was among the winners at the Dubai World Special Olympics Golf Tournament.
NORWICH - Norwich's Rick Buck Jr. captured the silver medal at the Dubai World Special Olympics Golf Tournament.
Rick Buck Jr. captured the silver medal competing in the Level 4 Division 1.
He says it was great to bring some hardware home.
"Well, it felt great bringing something back to Canada, going down and representing my country was amazing. And a silver medal coming back was amazing."
Buck Jr., who is originally from Norwich and now resides in Tillsonburg, has Touch of Cerebral Palsy, along with a learning disability and he's been playing golf in the Special Olympics for the last six years.
The 38 year-old earned second place after competing at the Yas Links Golf Club from March 17th-20th, shooting 42 in the first three rounds and finishing with 37 in his final round.
Following the tournament, Buck Jr. says he's going to use this win to achieve his ultimate goal.
"My goal in the future is I still want to be a professional golfer in my life."
Buck Jr. will play in the Special Olympics North American Golf Championships this summer.
